Depression can make a person feel hopeless and think
that things will never get better. This not true, as the condition is easily
treatable with medication and talk therapy. Lifestyle changes such as adding
more exercise and avoiding negative thought patterns can make a big difference.
Other natural methods of fighting depression are outlined below.
Create a Routine
The chaos of depression can take away the structure of days and give the feeling of being in a rut. Creating a simple, easy to follow routine may give a feeling of accomplishment and help a person regain a sense of control.
Meet Daily Goals
Setting goals with small tasks, such as making the bed or washing the dishes, can begin to push a person forward out of depression. If possible, it is best to continue with job responsibilities or do some volunteer work to keep the mind occupied.
Eat a Healthy Diet and Exercise
While there are no foods that will cure depression, eating healthier can help the body and mind cope with the condition. Spinach, tuna, avocado and salmon are high in folic acid and omega-3 fatty acids, both of which may ease the symptoms of depression. Short, brisk walks each day will release endorphins, which are natural mood-lifters.
Get Proper Sleep
Depression can interfere with a normal sleep cycle, making a person feel very tired and increasing the symptoms of the disorder. Going to sleep and awaking at the same time every day, along with removing all distractions from the bedroom, can improve sleep over time.
Have Fun New Experiences
Although it may be very difficult, going out and having new experiences can help lift depression. Volunteering, learning a new language, taking classes or even reading a book can change the dopamine level in the brain, leading to feelings of enjoyment and pleasure.
Change Thought Patterns
The biggest battle during depression is adjusting patterns of thought to be less negative. Logic is the best natural treatment, as it helps a person see a life situation in a more realistic light. It takes time and practice to defeat negative thought patterns, but it will eventually become second nature to not let them take over.
Use Caution with Supplements
Folic acid, fish oil and SAMe have been shown to improve depression symptoms in some people, but further research is required before declaring it a sure thing. It is always best to check with a doctor before starting a supplement to treat depression, especially if a person is already taking antidepressant medication.

I am Doris used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes…i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In the end, I decided that I wanted a tarot reading to know what my future held for me; I contacted a woman who lives locally to me and she told me about a man named (priests meruja); he does not advertise on the internet, has another job for income, has no set prices, makes no false promises and refuses to help anyone that cannot be helped and even helps
ReplyDeletefor free sometimes, he will give you proof before taking money. He is a wonderful man and he was the only person who actually gave me real results. I really hope he doesn’t mind me advertising his contact on the internet but I’m sure any help/ extra work will benefit him.contact him as nativedoctor101@live.com He travel sometimes.love marriage, finance, job promotion ,gambling voodoo, lottery Voodoo, poker voodoo, golf Voodoo,Law & Court case Spells, money voodoo, weigh loss voodoo, any sicknesses voodoo,Trouble in marriage,it’s all he does Hope this helps everyone that is in a desperate situation as I once was; I know how it feels to hold onto something and never have a chance to move on because of the false promises and then to feel trapped in wanting something

I love this post from Alex. I have struggled with bouts of depression since college. And one thing I have realized is that I don't have a set routine and poor sleepig habits. It also helps when I reach out to othes for support, especially family.

ReplyDeleteMy Secret Illness
Thank you for your web site. I've been battling depresion for the last year and a half - brought on by taking a new job (it was a big job and set me off). It has been really tough on my wife and kids (5 young ones). I used to be very active in all their lives and was my wife's best friend. Since then, I've become cold and distant. The only thing I look forward to these days is going to bed with the help of a sleeping pill (only chance for my brain to relax). Anyway, enough about me. Thanks for your advice and I'll try to follow through.
ReplyDeleteThis post if followed sincerely, will bring results for everyone reading this blog.
ReplyDeleteI have been blogging since 2 years and now I am making videos. That is the fun experience I have. Blogging helps to bring your emotions out. Identifying your strengths and Creatively expressing your strengths helps. I prepared ten commandments fo sufferers. I am giving it here.
Do not let your self esteem dip down
Understand no one else could have harmed you by accepting the fact that someone did their best at that time
Do not blame the circumstances
Forgive and forget
Take things lightly.
Remember the peace should come from within, not from outside
Realise the self in you
Understand you have the capacity to serve the needy
Pray God to give you the cure and energy to serve others
Love yourself
See the good in others and you
Do not forget the love of others around you
Do the things you liked to do as a child
Smell the things you liked to do as a child
Hear the music you liked to hear as a child
Do all of this and verify you got peace!

keep up the good fight.
I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.
ReplyDeleteOnly deserving people win the struggle and get occupations. Those who are defeated suffer starvation and misery. In our country many persons are unemployed. Their number is very large. Unemployment problem is a great problem in our country.
ReplyDeleteYour work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.
ReplyDeleteThe problem I find with depression is that it distorts your thinking making even the most simple of decisions difficult.
ReplyDeleteVery useful info from Meena. Peace from within is a good starting point.
